I see life very much as a voyage, a journey of self-discovery that takes us to many places and to meet many people. My life has been like this and I have enjoyed the variety of experiences that I have had and the wonderful people that I have met along the way. Each has propelled me on to a new place and to a new me.
Donna holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Recreation and Parks from West Virginia University. After several years working with children and adults in the recreation field, she felt drawn to touch the lives of people in a more significant way. So as the newly single mother of a 2 year old, she returned to school and earned a Masters Degree in Social Work from Delaware State University. Her coaching education is from MentorCoach an accredited program through the International Coaching Federation. She was awarded a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in the Application of the Expressive Arts from Salve Regina University. Donna is a Certified Music Practitioner earning her certification through the Music for Healing and Transition Program.
For over 25 years, Donna has worked with children, youth and adults whose lives have been touched by mental illness, trauma, abuse and neglect. Donna has created a number of programs across Southern Maryland to serve this population prior to opening her own private practice. Lindsay holds a Bachelor of Arts in Clinical/Counseling Psychology
from Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland. At Washington College, she
found my passion for therapy after having several internships where she worked with individuals diagnosed with a mental illness who were seeking
therapeutic services. After graduating she knew that she wanted to
continue her education so that she could assist others. She enrolled at Salisbury
University and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. she is very thankful that she
continued to pursue her education because she thoroughly enjoys her role as a therapist.
Experience:
Throughout her college careers, Lindsay has found that she have a
passion for working with children and teens. Her passion led her to her current
career as a Special Education Paraeducator. Lindsay is also pursuing her teacher’s
certification because of the love that she has for educating children. "I enjoy
working with my students and clients because while they may learn something
from their time spent with me, I always learn something from them." Lindsay
assists in running a summer camp each year for children diagnosed with a
developmental disability. "For me, any day spent with children is a wonderful
day!"
